Ladies’ Auxiliary To the Bloomingburg Fire Company

1964-Present

 Through the efforts of Josephine York Walters, 45 years ago the Auxiliary was formed with 29 charter members, 3 of which are still active today. The Ladies’ Auxiliary has been celebrating out Anniversary in November by going out to dinner, inviting both active and honorary members to share in our celebration.

 One of our major goals is fund raising which, in turn, supports our Scholarship fund for 4 graduating seniors within our fire district. The scholarship winners are chosen based on their application and essay explaining what they have done as a service in their community. Our fund raising efforts also support the “Signal 10: (refreshments for the firefighters at structure fires) when the call comes. Many of the fund raising projects are a joint effort of the auxiliary and the fire company.

Our fund raising efforts have grown throughout the years. Our Penny Social and Calendar has become our biggest fund raisers. We also have had several Bake Sales, Car Washes, Yankee Candle Sales, a Breakfast with Santa and a Father’s Day Breakfast this year.

 Our membership ranks have increased throughout the years with the addition of a Jr. Auxiliary. We have implemented a point system in the 90s’. We have adopted Roberts Rules of Order. We have started a quarterly newsletter, and we are also planning on doing more community outreach projects.

 The Ladies are proud to be able to say that they are still winning parade trophies in County and Out-of-County

 We look forward to continue to be there whenever the call should arise for many more years to come. We are proud to part of your company!
